Classes are FREE to Diné people on a first come first served basis. Non-Navajos will be allowed to register for a class upon availability with a fee of $150.
Classes are not accredited and do not qualify for any scholarship requirements.
DINÉ WEAVING CLASS
Location: Phoenix Indian Center
4520 N Central Ave., 2nd Floor

Class I will meet every Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm beginning January 25 through May 10, 2017.
Instructor: Cheryl Mizell
Class II will meet every Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm beginning January 28 through May 13, 2017.
Instructor: Velma Craig
The classes are recommended for ages 10 and up with a parent chaperone. This will be an introduction to Diné Weaving. Classes will focus on learning how to set up the loom, the significance of the loom, and learning basic designs and patterns.
Weaving loom may be purchased if needed. Weaving tools will be made available for purchase.
